I caught this gecko yesterday. We have seen this kind of gecko a few times around the house but every time I tried to catch it it ran away. Finally I caught this one but it was kind of aggressive as when I caught it it tried to bite my hand. The gecko was really jumpy as, as soon as my grip got loose on it it would jump out of my hand and plop onto the table or the floor. One time It did that and Carter was standing in front of it and it started chasing him with his mouth wide open. when we were trying to take pictures of the gecko it didn't want to cooperate and kept running away. One time it ran underneath table and Carter and I were both under it trying to chase it and it tried to jump on Carter. Luckily Carter was fast enough and got out of the way.

Extreme Garden Home!

Uh maybe not. I made this on Saturday last week while we were in the bush with Agisa the MAF agent here. We originally went across to make a dug out canoe with him but his youngest son was there and he was in the way of the axe. So as we were not doing much I built a bush shelter for them. I didn't even use nails as there was no nail trees in the bush. I used all bush materials like sticks, bush rope and palm leaves. I built it by sticking three sticks in the ground the other support was a small tree. All three of the sticks had a y shape part at the top so I stuck my roof supports in them then I tied them. For the small tree I just tied the support onto it as there was no y piece in it. I then put three more roof supports across the other two and then tied them down. After I was finished doing that Agisa went into the bush and cut some palm fronds for me for the roof. We then laid them on top of the supports. Finally it was finished just as it started to rain but it was time to go. So this Saturday we are going again and then I can go in it.

The Hard Way Up

This is a picture of me in one of the many hard trees that I have climbed in PNG. I have learned many skills for tree climbing while here like digging my toes into knots and holes in the tree trunk were there is no branches. Shimmying up a tree is one of the hardest skills I have learned to do and it kind of makes you look like a tree frog hopping up a tree. I love climbing trees because it makes me more flexible and a lot stronger. I have climbed trees were there is a 3 ft long gap between sticks when you need to basically  do the splits to get your leg up. Sometimes in some trees I have to grab onto a branch walk my feet up the trunk of the tree then hook my legs over the branch and grab onto another branch pulling myself up. Usually the next day after I climb a hard tree I am really sore but that doesn't stop me from doing what I like. Climbing trees is one of my favourite things to do when I have spare time.

Fishing Frenzy!

This is just one of the things Josh and I caught, it is a moray eel. Unfortunately it was already dead. While Josh and I were in Madang with our families we did a lot of fishing. We went fishing just about every day while we were there. The first day we went fishing we did not catch any thing but most of the other days we did. The first fish that we caught was a good size it had black and white strips all the way down its body. The next fish we caught was some kind of parrot fish and it was purple, red and green. The next day I was doing my diving course so Josh went fishing by himself and he caught ten fish two of them were trigger fish which when big have great big teeth and are vicious. A few days later Josh and I were fishing and I caught two fish one was a yellow and black fish and the other a parrot fish the same kind that Josh caught. We caught all of these fish with a bottle as a reel and also the rod by winding the fishing line around the bottle. Josh and I used tons of different things as bait, like lizards, crabs, french fries, bananas, clams and snails. We even did in ocean fishing which is really fun as you fish will you are swimming around in the ocean. When you do in ocean fishing you have your snorkel on so you can keep your face in the water and see the fish chomp down on your hook. In all Josh and I had a lot of fun fishing.

Madang

Our vacation to Madang with our friends the Ebels was very nice. Josh and I did a lot of swimming in the ocean. we had a lot of fun in the ocean at the resort where we were staying at because there was a rope swing that we could go off of. Josh even did back flips off of it. One time Josh went on the rope and this kid was sitting on a branch that we usually swung back close to.  Josh came swinging back and the rope whipped around the kid's ankle and when Josh swung out again he pulled the kid with him and all you could see of the kid was a big splash! It was very funny to watch especially because Josh was confused why he had come to an abrupt stop. I had a great time in the ocean!
